Permanent hair removal can be achieved with Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) laser technology. Christine at Castle SkinCareClinic has used IPL laser techology for 9 years which uses light to destroy the follicles of growing hair. The system produces intense pulses of light which are absorbed by the melanin in actively growing (anagen) hair. As the light is asorbed it generates heat which, in turn, destroys the hair follicle without affecting the surrounding skin. Once this is destroyed the hair can never grow again.
Depending on the body area, intervals between treatments can vary from 6 weeks (facial) to 18 weeks (legs).
