Melanin converts the light energy into heat. This heat is used to destroy the parts of the cells in which the melanin is stored. This technique has the name 'Selective Photothermolysis'.
For a short period of time, clients may expereince darkening of the treated hyper-pigmented areas. These will fade or wash off over the next 7-10 days. As the treatments progress, significant clinical improvement can be seen.
Generally between 2-4 treatments are required, 3-4 weeks apart, with a 'top-up' approximately every 12 months.
